New Products
We have a few new products to introduce today! We have been dabbling in the black pipe lighting world and have come up with some pretty neat lamps.
All of the new lamps have a 6 foot braided cotton cord and have a standard Edison base lamp socket, which is rated for 100 watts. We recommend that you add a vintage style bulb, which we now carry on the site (see bottom picture). Each fixture is constructed with UL Listed products, and my husband (a master electrician) wires the lamps for us.
The lamps above are the same with a slight variation to show that we offer custom sizes and colors. For instance, this one (picture above) is in a little boys bedroom.

Summer Solstice
Welcome Summer!
So many ladders...so many options!

So many ladders...so many options!
Just a few ideas on how to decorate with our ladders for summer.
This is our 4 foot tapered ladder that we hung by the front door. I can see using this as a focal point in the summer and fall because of the stain. More ideas as the seasons change.
We hung this one on our pergola over the fire pit. We are using the lanterns at night with candles.
Take a mental trip to the beach or the pool. This tapered farmhouse white ladder with gray distressing is perfect for that summer look. Looks great with beach towels hung on it or in your kitchen with your favorite summer hand towels. My daughter has it in her baby girl's nursery. Upon request we are now using low VOC paint to protect the environment and our precious loved ones!
We use our white with walnut distressing pot rack in the summer to lighten the kitchen up. I use a lot of my white-ware and galvanized accessories to give it that summer look.
Another summer idea for the bathroom are some white crisp bath towels hung over our white walnut distressed ladder.
We will be using this white walnut distressed ladder as a mobile for my granddaughters crib. More pictures to come.
Our newest product the rustic oar. This would be a great addition to any blank wall space to add character and warmth to any room. My son-in-law wants one for his office.
Happy Decorating!

Urban Industrial decor
Busy Day. In addition to building six pot racks and blanket ladders, we received a couple orders for industrial black pipe items.
It was a beautiful day, with temperatures in the mid 80's, so we moved outside on the driveway and caught some rays will staying busy.

Custom Orders and some general rambling
Our "standard" postings on our Etsy shop continue to sell at a brisk pace. My husband and I were reflecting on our last year (or so) of progress the shop has made with public acceptance with pride. To create an item with one's creativity, and not copy someone else ideas is challenging. When a person buys the product, it validates your creative ability. We are so thrilled with our success.
The past few days, we have been asked to develop custom orders for our wonderful customers that are a modification of our ideas, which fits their specific and special needs.
Thank you to those folks for appreciating our quality construction techniques and giving us the opportunity to tailor our products to suit their needs.
We are blessed.

Moving from Christmas decorations to deep into Winter Themes
The Christmas celebrations are over, the children and grand children are heading to their home, and it's snowing and cold outside. The "Shine Banner" over the fireplace is out of date, and the "Fall Banner" that we had over the fireplace is also out of date. I found some white burlap in the cutting room, and decided that "Winter" would be far more appropriate.
We developed some lithography in the "Rough Typewriter" font, and developed a couple snowflakes on Photoshop, pushed the Elna sewing machine into duty, and built a new banner for the fireplace.
The banner is available on our Etsy shop, if you want one for your fireplace also.
More Christmas decorations are coming down, and new decor items will be posted soon.
The "Shine Banner" which we utilized for Christmas is below:
The new "Winter Banner" has replaced the Christmas theme.

Getting Busy
Hubby and I are home, and have to get busy, since the children and grand children are coming over.
First (since it's 15 degrees outside), we had to take down the fall banner on the fireplace and give the fireplace some Holiday charm.
The other side of the fireplace could use the vintage sleigh that's been stored in the basement for the year.
And the pot rack needs some help also. Off comes the pumpkin, and Holiday cheer is added.
We found some neat fabric at our local shop, and sewed a new table cloth, and put a simple center piece on the kitchen table.
A small side table decoration and small armoir upgrade.
We're getting there, but there is more work to do.
Happy Holidays to you and your family

Santa might be on his way !?!?!?
We put some lights on the house today. The grand children are coming to visit, so we needed to assure ourselves that Santa can find it.
Do you think he can see it as he ventures out in a couple days?

Game Day Chili
It's forecast to snow tomorrow, so we are planning to make chili !!!
Our favorite recipe dates back to a 2000 Southern Living article.
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground chuck
1 medium onion, chopped
3 -4 garlic cloves, minced
2 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans or 2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
3 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (12 ounce) bottle dark beer
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (4 1/2 ounce) can chopped green chilies
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 -2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon hot sauce
Garnish
pickled jalapeno pepper, slices
Directions:
1.
Cook first 3 ingredients in a Dutch oven over medium heat, stirring until meat crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain well.
2.
Combine meat mixture, beans, and next 11 ingredients in Dutch oven (I usually start off with half the beef broth and beer, and add more as needed); bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 3 hours or until thickened. Garnish, if desired.

Decorating at home for Christmas
Our lengthy Thanksgiving break in Maui, and needing to build some inventory for Christmas sells when we returned, has pushed back decorating our home. It was 14 degrees today, along with wind and lite snow, so ....... we worked on the home.
First was the rec room table. For fall, we have candles, etc.
Now, we made the serving piece look "allot more like Christmas"
We thought that Chevron print is a new decor highlight, so we decided to remove the burlap table runner, and make a new one to fit the occasion.
Yes. It's getting to look "allot more like Christmas"

Back in the shop creating new items
Well ..... We are back from paradise, with our batteries recharged, and ready to work. Maui is a special place for our family. Great beaches, wonderful pools and food at the Marriott, and (of course) the views are beyond compare. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving break that will bring back memories for us for years to come.

Maui for a Thanksgiving break
We have had a great response to our on line store opening, and decided to take a short break from the busy days and nights.
There's nothing like a day on the beach in Maui to reflect on friends, family, and the wonders of this great planet and our great nation.
We hope you are enjoying a safe Thanksgiving Holiday break also.
